Windows 10 has been available for some time now, so you can upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10. The warning message is still appearing, but you can proceed with the installation. Regarding the C drive, it’s generally safe to wipe it before upgrading if you want a clean installation, though it’s not strictly necessary.

Consider doing a fresh setup after the update, so I’d recommend beginning only if you have the time for the upgrade. Then proceed with the clean install.

The system is configured to sign in automatically. If you encounter login problems after an upgrade, try resetting your password or checking for software updates.

Didn't you ask if it would damage my C drive? And what about Windows 10 right now? I’ll think it over again before deciding whether to upgrade. Why not just upgrade? Thanks! What’s the current situation with Windows 10?

The login process needs manual entry. Open the start menu search bar and type "NetPlwiz." Choose the matching result. A panel will appear. Ensure the box labeled "User must enter a user name and password to use this computer" is checked. Click OK and restart your device. After logging back in (if you remember your password), wait a few minutes, then check the 'Get Windows 10' app again for its status.
