I'm working on fixing your GFs girlfriend's issues. At first, the built-in webcam wasn't recognized, so I pushed for as many Windows 10 updates as possible. Eventually, updates stopped installing and kept looping. I used Driver Booster to add drivers, but it didn’t help much. The touchpad is now problematic. I reset the laptop overnight, but the problems remain. I’m considering a clean install from a USB drive, but I don’t have the Windows 10 key since the laptop came with one already. Any suggestions on what else you could try before starting over?
Keep the activation intact since the key is stored in the BIOS/mobile. You might try produkey to get it. If you haven’t done that yet, set up an MS account. To reactivate Windows, simply log back into your MS account on the Windows device. Avoid using driver boosters to install drivers; always visit the manufacturer’s website for proper driver installation.
