Windows 10 has issues starting up properly.
Hey! I shared this for a friend because I’m really stuck. This morning, their computer turned on normally, but after a few hours away, it came back online. The keyboard was acting weird—strange sounds and not responding properly. Eventually it worked, but once they watched some videos, the keyboard stopped working entirely. It made a clicking noise like a mouse when used, and they had to restart.
Now they’re locked out of the windows, though it feels like something is wrong. When they try to boot up, the screen says there’s an automatic fix or issue, but it keeps saying it can’t find anything. After that, they see a blue screen with options like “continue,” “use a device,” or “look for a problem.” None of the auto-fix tools seem to help.
I checked the BIOS and boot settings, but everything looks normal. They can’t access Windows at all—just when they press “continue,” they’re sent back to the autofix screen and then to the blue menu. It’s frustrating, and I’m running out of ideas. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
Having details such as system specifications and age would be helpful for making accurate assumptions. However, it seems like this might indicate an issue with the drive.
only the spec we’re certain is an i5-4460 is confirmed, not sure about the rest... they chose to ask for help from a family member and split their drive... I wasn’t involved and have no clue about what they did. Now they can’t even reach that blue option screen, and they’re only seeing this error...
Well, we really don't have a clear idea of what they actually did. So... according to the screen, you might want to check the CSM option in the BIOS. To be honest, I usually avoid this kind of situation. I'm trying to fix things from a distance while someone else is probably doing something they don't even understand. It usually turns out complicated. Just a note.
