Windows 10 releases updates regularly, not just once a year. These patches often address security issues and improve performance. If you're concerned about the frequency, it's normal to feel confused—check the official release notes for details.

Every two weeks we release updates, a tradition started back in Windows XP times.

In all honesty, there's absolutely nothing stupid or time wasting about them. They're security updates. Not quite sure why you're upset about it. Windows 10 has by far the most unintrusive updates I've ever encountered.

There needs to be a way to update monthly or every two weeks.

In theory, you can completely skip them if you wish. The PC will restart itself and perform maintenance and updates around 3 AM.

I'm facing an issue with keeping many tabs active, especially YouTube videos. After the update, I open Chrome, switch to a closed tab to restore the tabs, then manually pause each YouTube video.

You can, to some degree. These updates mainly serve as barriers to prevent hackers and malware from accessing the system. Who wouldn’t appreciate that?

Yeah, I understand. It would be better if they weren’t around, but there’s not much you can do except switch them off (though I can’t really suggest that).
