The issue occurs regardless of the browser used—Firefox, Edge, or any other. It also happens when saving data from external applications like Skype or Photoshop files.

The only thing I can confirm is AHCI is enabled in BIOS. Otherwise, reinstalling Windows would be necessary. No other suggestions available.

Begin by ensuring your text isn’t formatted in colors that won’t display properly. Next, check the security programs already running on your computer. It’s likely they’re blocking downloads and slowing down scans, especially when creating new folders. Edited July 25, 2021 by Spotty removed vid.me link

AHCI is active. Would it help to turn it off? The comment advises avoiding white, black, or dark grey/blue text since those colors aren’t readable for users with dark themes. Apologies for sharing a Reddit post without replies—I only use Avast free antivirus. Thanks for the tip; I’ll disable it and check the results.

No worries next time you copy paste something, there is a little message that pops up at the bottom of your post window where you can click a link to remove the formatting. That will fix it. But it's all good, we can always get around it by highlighting text with a mouse. For giggles, try turning off Avast just to test things out. We run Avast FREE on the family computer and don't experience this problem though, so it might be something else.

I turned off Avast and it kept happening. I didn’t want to change the settings, even though I’ve had my files for over three years. It seems like this is the only option left.
