Open explorer.exe or restart the whole system, Windows 10 just being Windows 10... You can actually run the computer without Explorer at all.

That’s how I handle it when it happens, but what’s the best way to do it?

Consider removing the WD blue drive from the PC, maybe because it's quite old. Edit: But of course if the stuff you're checking is only on SSD... Then it could be that. I'd go ahead without an HDD anyways.

I'll give it a shot, but the WD blue remains in great condition. I test it with some heavy games like Gtav, Red Dead 2, BV5 and Forza Horizon 4—R6S—and it never freezes or drops in frame rate.

Sure, then it's improbable it's the case.

I actually support testing without an HDD. Handling large amounts of data isn't the same as real system use. Your SSD isn't great, but it's not terrible either. Among the most affordable SSDs, this is likely one of the top picks. Personally, I've trusted Adata SSD drives—this is my third option.

I didn't grasp the point about "Reading a lot of data isn't the same as system operations." My Windows runs on an SSD, not an HDD. I tried using the PC without the HDD, and so far there hasn't been a freeze. The freezes have occurred only 1-3 times a day at most, with the system restarting around 10 AM each day.

Drive issues might actually be linked to sleep mode, not reading errors. It could happen when the device is paused during startup. You can turn off sleep mode in power settings.
