I recently purchased a refurbished laptop from NewEgg (https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a...6834267847). When it shipped, I attempted to install benchmark software. I used the preinstalled browser (Microsoft Edge) and tried downloading Blender, a 3D software I rely on professionally. The download failed. After switching to Chrome, the issue persisted. I retried, and it succeeded.

When I double-clicked the latest file labeled .exe1, it prompted me to choose an application. None of the options matched; it was an executable file, so I renamed it to .exe and proceeded. The problem continued.

This seems to be a Windows 10 issue, as the laptop required login credentials during setup initially but failed afterward. I chose to skip that step and later encountered a login failure when rebooting.

Thanks, Joey.

Windows 10 Education doesn't support third-party applications. If you have a different Windows 10 license, you might be able to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro, but I’m not sure how to do it.

Haha, you're kidding, right? I thought they'd bring Windows 10... That's a big lie.

You might be using Windows 10 S Mode despite the product claims for Windows 10 Pro. I recommend returning it and requesting a refund for misleading advertising.

Your connection is broken. Could you share a photo of the laptop screen?

It mentions it includes Windows 10 Pro, but I doubt that's the case. It also stated it came with 8 GB of RAM, yet I received 12. Thanks for the assistance—appreciate it!

Just reinstall Windows, it's possible the previous owner made a mistake.
