Hello, I recently purchased a pre-built system and Windows prompted me to enter a PIN for signing in. At first I thought I could delete it later, but Windows blocked that. It does allow removal, yet when I try to log back in I’m forced to re-enter a new PIN without an option to skip. I’ve attempted to create a USB authentication key and left it on the PC, but Windows doesn’t recognize it or any other USB devices (I tried three different ones). I just want my PC to start up automatically without requiring any sign-in. Do you have any suggestions on how to bypass this requirement? I’m using Windows Home version 20H2, build 19042.1288, and it’s fully activated. Best regards, Jimboza1

It’s likely Windows 10 will only occasionally cause issues if no password is set. That’s essentially the expected outcome. EDIT: Reminder—use a local account instead of a Microsoft account.

I also don’t have a password; I just have a PIN configured. Does having a local account cause you to lose important data?

Resolving the issue with the Microsoft account made it work properly. Appreciate the help!
