Been stuck for three hours at 6% progress. All data wiped like a brand-new computer with no previous files left. I did this because I had unnecessary files on my PC, Steam couldn’t create a new game folder on a different drive, and just general clutter was getting out of hand. What should I do—just wait or try something?

Attempt to detach plug and verify restart functionality. If unsuccessful, proceed with installing from an installer and performing a fresh setup.

Reach out to the maker of your pre-built setup, as they likely have instructions for enabling a PC reset. You might also consider obtaining a Windows 10 ISO from Microsoft and performing a fresh installation yourself. Regarding the details about your PC in the post you shared, we should infer the specifications.

I7-7700k 2080S 16GB DDR4 3000mhz TUF z270 mk2 — why contact the manufacturer? Just open Windows and choose PC reset; it should fix things. During the first attempt, I noticed no video output, so I powered off the machine via the power supply and switched to onboard video. After restarting, it loaded into Windows again and displayed an output, though it remained stuck. I’m unsure if turning it off helped. I think waiting overnight might resolve the issue, as some users reported similar problems.

Performing that action would erase all existing data, leaving only the freshly installed Windows system behind.

Yes, it will erase all the partitions you configured to wipe. Usually only the boot drive is connected, which avoids unexpected problems.

Do you understand how to arrange your files yourself? Just using a tool like FileManager (like in Explorer) works well enough. Steam presents a unique challenge, but because it isn’t part of Windows, trying to fix it by reinstalling the system won’t help.
