Hello, I encountered a BSOD (BlueScreenOfDead). I recently upgraded my operating system to Windows 10 since I don’t like Windows 8.1. Here’s the photo of the error I captured. I ran a memtest that showed no faulty RAM, and I performed a virus/malware scan—no threats detected. I’m using four USB ports on both the front and back. If anyone can assist, it’s happened nine times and it’s quite frustrating. Larger context: http://i.imgur.com/avpA6hR.jpg

It seems like you're suggesting that the only options are to fix the issue or completely erase the settings.

I was frustrated with the repair and it didn’t help, so I’m considering a factory reset of the Windows.

Clean boot... If it fails, you're likely facing a need for a fresh installation drive

The BSOD may stem from a driver altering the kernel. Flawed drivers often arise from this issue. Developers sometimes assume they understand more than Microsoft and secretly modified the OS kernel. They might have spent excessive time on this rather than resolving the problem correctly. A debug tool was embedded, possibly set via an unconnected kernel debugger at startup. Alternatively, a software or driver included a debugger with a breakpoint that wasn’t removed. Hardware issues like bad SSD/HDD or RAM could also be responsible. If driver-related, revert to a previous version, ensure all drivers are updated, and consider upgrading to Windows 10. Remove faulty hardware such as sound cards, input devices, or TV tuners if applicable. For a bare system, scan RAM errors using various tools and test each RAM stick separately, as problems can be subtle. Try swapping out HDDs or SSDs to isolate the cause.

I attempted factory resets that failed and the system is malfunctioning. Only the BSOD error code INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE appears. I plan to use a Windows 10 USB and CD to fix the OS if needed, otherwise I’ll run memtest and perform an HDD/SSD scan if the repair doesn’t work. Thank God I saved my files, so I can revert back to Windows 7 or 8.1 if everything fails.

I tried a complete reinstall of Windows 7 after Windows 10 didn’t work for me, and it didn’t trigger any crashes.

I faced the same issue recently after a fresh Windows 8.1 setup. The fix came from using the program available at http://www.duplexsecure.com/downloads. If you encounter another BSOD, give this method a try, please!
