Windows 10 DWM restart issue in April 2018 patch Update details
Just like the rest of the world, I was really thrilled about the Win 10 April 2018 update. I downloaded it and installed it, but after updating to April 2018, the Windows Explorer would restart every couple of seconds, making my laptop unusable. I searched online for solutions, but nothing helped much. Eventually, I had to revert to the original Win 10 version, which I got via an HP recovery disk (since it was a HP laptop). Now, whenever I turn on my laptop, I disable the forced update services (through services.msc) to avoid another update and prevent further issues. I’m wondering if the bug causing Explorer to restart has been fixed by Microsoft. Should I still update my laptop or stick with the old version? I don’t find clear instructions online, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance. My laptop is an HP Pavilion Notebook AB125AX.
