I recently set up my initial computer build. It includes a Ryzen 3 1200, GTX 970, 8GB RAM, and an MSI B350 motherboard. I quickly updated the BIOS because it initially displayed only 2 cores, but after updating it works with all 4. Next, I downloaded a Windows 10 ISO and installed it onto a USB 2.0 flash drive using Rufus. After booting from the drive and choosing Install, I received a warning saying "A media driver your computer needs is missing." I looked online for solutions and found the INTEL RST fix, though it seems incompatible with AMD architecture. Any advice on resolving this driver issue would be very helpful.

I encountered this problem with my previous build a few years back. After updating the ISO and rebuilding the USB drive, it resolved the issue. This error typically happens due to a corrupt file in the build. Have you considered changing the USB port once the warning appeared?

Link the storage device, then navigate to BIOS and confirm its presence. If it appears, start from BIOS and boot into that system.

Use the media creation tool for Windows 10. Boot from your USB flash drive in UEFI mode. Ensure the UEFI settings are up to date, with no legacy options enabled and CSM turned off. If Windows cannot locate the drive, insert your motherboard disk, choose "load driver" or "browse" in the error prompt, go to SATA controller drivers, and select the *.inf file (for a SATA SSD/HDD).

I've checked all USB ports 2.0 and 3.0 on my motherboard, but the warning persists. Would you like me to help locate the missing driver?

You would typically locate the SATA controller in the device's internal storage or drive bay.

Chipset or SATA, based on the connection point for your storage device. The integrated SATA controller (chipset) or a separate SATA controller on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard manual for details on SATA port assignments.
