You're experiencing inconsistent download speeds, fluctuating between 1.6 Mbps and 7 Mbps. Since you haven't adjusted your network settings and the issue persists, consider checking your internet connection quality, testing with a wired Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi, and ensuring your device isn't running background apps that might consume bandwidth. Also, verify if your router supports high-speed downloads and update its firmware if needed.

The update likely happened in the background. If this isn't the problem, try a download manager. I've used one called IDM—it didn't cause any issues and actually sped up downloads by breaking files into parts before assembling them.

I'll attempt this, though a direct browser solution would likely be the optimal choice.

I understand how Windows functions. The issue seems to be with browser download forms being sluggish, while other download-heavy apps run smoothly.
