I set up Windows 10 on my media server and everything functions properly except for one problem. My HD movies don’t play Dolby Digital or DTS through the optical digital output to my home theater receiver. I’ve installed the newest sound drivers, and the built-in Realtek ALC 1150 is working. I’ve tried both MKV files and Blu-ray movies, but VLC and PowerDVD11 didn’t help. When I set Optical Output as the default sound device, nothing plays. It looks like there’s an issue with Windows 10 itself. If I can’t fix this, I’m considering switching back to Windows 7 after some quick research found similar problems. Any advice or suggestions would be really appreciated.
