I suggest installing Windows 8.1. I haven't used Windows 10 in a while, but the previous version didn't get cleaned up well enough to avoid frustration. The Action Center was my biggest problem.

Used it for a few months as my primary operating system on an SSD. Worked well for me and offered a modest but appreciated upgrade over Windows 7. Gaming performance was excellent and no issues arose with the R9 290 using beta drivers (intended for Windows 8). Still, I back up any critical data to another drive. The update will likely bring back Windows 7 if the preview ends, but a new beta could be released by April.

Windows 10 appears on Newegg, suggesting pre-orders are likely soon. I think it’s best to hold off and see what comes next, since switching from a stable OS to an unstable one isn’t really necessary.

I believe I will set up a dual boot between Windows 7 and Windows 10.

You could always set it up in VirtualBox just to experiment with it. In my opinion, the downsides are more significant than the benefits of using it as a main operating system.
