Hi everyone, I've encountered a minor issue recently and was wondering if anyone had a solution or faced similar problems. I'm using Windows 10 on a 5930k/980ti SLI system with dual monitors—my main display is an ultra-wide 3440x1440, and the secondary is 1920x1080. Recently, Windows 10 has been forcing the primary display to run at 30Hz, especially after waking up from sleep. In dual-monitor mode, I need to manually adjust the refresh rate back to 60Hz. Noticing that connecting the HDMI cable to the secondary monitor causes the primary ultra-wide display to instantly drop to 60Hz, while the secondary stays steady at 60Hz. After setting the display to 60Hz myself, both monitors function properly. This setup has been reliable for about a year, but I've tried updating drivers and restarting without success. The Windows update logs show no updates since August 31st. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! P.S.—I realized earlier that I was confusing the setup; it's just dual monitors, not a daisy chain.

I'm not familiar with daisy-chaining monitors. Could you clarify the cables involved and the display ports being used?

Alternative solution... turn off hibernation/sleep, keep active all the time.

They’re using dual monitors instead of chaining them. A DP1.2 setup works with the 3440x1440, while the 1920x1080 uses a standard HDMI connection.

It's been a consistent practice, but I've begun sleeping the machine manually while I'm at school. This helps reduce risks like accidents or fire when I'm away. I only realized it recently, after adopting this routine, so it probably relates to sleep mode. Maybe I should just save and shut it down from now on...

It's the way I handle things—when I shut down my PC, I power it off completely. Hibernation, sleep, or wake mode can lead to problems, but I’ve found it works fine now. And when it comes to torrenting, I go all in.

standard hdmi connections can sometimes cause problems even with decent cables. This happened to my PS3 when I tried to use a low-quality cable.
