expecting a significant boost in performance on Windows 10 with the Start Menu layout is possible, especially with your hardware setup. Your 750Ti and the upgraded G3258 should handle it well.

Windows 10 runs much more efficiently and feels smoother. Many users report up to 10% better gaming performance and faster overall system responsiveness. Some games only see a slight improvement, around 2-3%. Maxwell is expected to support DX12, which should further enhance your experience.

Performance comparison with Windows 8.1 in games remains unchanged. Windows 10 appears smoother, though I've been using 8.1 for a while and recently installed it, which might explain the difference.

I’m confident the Nvidia Kepler 7XX models will also be compatible.

You should be fine with DX12 on a 700-series system. Upgrades will likely reach 11_0 and 11_1, though it won’t match the capabilities of 12_0 and 12_1.

These versions act as older counterparts to DX12, offering full support for the standard capabilities and recent enhancements while leaving out the newer additions that will appear in future releases. 11_0 and 11_1 resemble legacy systems, maintaining compatibility with all default features but not with the upcoming updates from 12_0 and 12_1. I think the distinction between 12_0 and 12_1 is minor, though I’m not very familiar with the details so proceed with caution

This means GTX700s would benefit from better speed, but they wouldn’t get the latest features or updates.
