Understood. It's positive, though there are certain issues that really bother you. Even though I began with a Hackintosh project, I’ll probably rely more on Windows overall, since it’s simpler to locate unusual applications for Windows than macOS (plus F@H doesn’t support GPUs on macOS). W7 is still a solid choice, but it seems to be becoming outdated over time.

Just checking if views shift or if newcomers missed it. Scanned the first page—nothing there. If merged, well... that’s fine.

I really dislike this. I've only experienced so many problems with Windows since Windows 10 came out. It's going to be six years in two months, and there are still obvious issues. The interface feels disjointed and the updates are really poor. The only advantage Windows offered was being able to upgrade for free using old keys. If Linux had better driver support and gaming matched Windows, I wouldn't bother using it at all.

the interface is terrible and lacks consistency across the system, with numerous issues popping up constantly

I've been relying on Windows for a long time, but I'm planning to switch to Linux soon.

It isn't as top-notch as Vista or 98, but with heavy tweaks it can work well most of the time. So, no, I wouldn't rate it a 4/10 compared to Linux. For reference, my preferred OS is CellOS, which runs on UNIX (or FreeDSB).

Microsoft keeps pushing more updates, which is really driving me away. Their "News and Interests" section is just another example of things that make me want to abandon Windows. The constant push to try Edge is especially annoying. If I weren’t using my desktop for gaming, I’d probably be running Linux instead—something I saw when I moved from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 20.04 on my laptop a few months back. That was the best choice I made so far in 2021.
