Windows 10, Are You Still Waiting?
Windows 10, Are You Still Waiting?
Use the media creation tool offered by Microsoft. Avoid the enterprise edition of Windows, as it won’t notify you.
It may require up to a month. Avoid pushing it; Microsoft is verifying compatibility.
They claim it will take several weeks, but it's already been under a week.
I took a vacation over the weekend, and upon returning, I immediately accessed Windows Update, which was already prepared for download. I kept it open while I was at work.
I still don’t have it installed on two of my computers. The laptop wasn’t receiving any alerts, so I pushed the update last week with the media creation utility from Microsoft. It took a while before it finally got activated. I’m thinking about doing the same for my other two PCs.
Have had it on 6 machines out of 12 in the house running ever since the 29th or morning 30th, other 6 have yet to get the update notification, 4 are running win 8.1 and 2 are running win 7, all up to date. Again: Win 10 upgrade rollout is being done in phases, starting with insiders and continuing on a FCFS model until all reserved upgrades are finished Also, the upgrade may not pop up if your specs have compatibility issues
Reserved Windows 10 prior to the July 29th launch. The C drive contains a Windows ~BT folder but remains capped at 140MB. After some days, I clicked the upgrade icon to receive a readiness notification. Now the ~BT folder shows 6GB, yet no alert appears indicating it's ready. All updates and optional upgrades have been applied. Review the Windows Update history—there’s a log from July 30th to August 3rd showing failed upgrade attempts to Windows 10. Some suggest a corrupted download, recommending deletion of all Windows 10 files in the distribution folder and re-downloading. Others claim it's normal since the download isn't complete yet. Rather than waiting, I downloaded the installer through the media creation tool and performed the upgrade manually. The process succeeded and Windows activated automatically.
