Pirated versions of Windows can obtain an upgrade to Windows 10 without cost, though they remain unauthorized. This situation raises concerns for users who have activated pirated copies. If the operating system identifies these as legitimate, should it also accept and install the Windows 10 update? What steps would Windows 10 take when encountering pirated software that claims activation?

Thats an old article. This has been answered by MS already in late June/early July. Illegitimate copies will not receive the upgrade. I will look it up and post for you.

We still lack clarity. What we understand is that items currently labeled as fake will remain unchanged. No tests have been conducted on those deemed "authentic."

If it doesn't function... I assume Pirates can be used with a broken Windows 10 edition.

It was released on June 19th. The official page provides details at In the red text, it explains that Windows Insiders will get the final version of Windows 10 starting July 29th if they’re using the Windows 10 Insider Preview with their MSA connected. This update follows a standard release schedule. Many users have asked how this applies when cleaning from an ISO. As long as you’re on an Insider Preview build and linked to your original MSA, you’ll receive the final build. After installation, you can also perform a clean install using the final media if needed. Please remember that only those with genuine Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 can upgrade for free, while Enterprise users must use Volume Licensing Service Center for the final release.

Fortunately, I purchased an official version several years back... Plus, Reddit offers copies for around $15 to $20, which isn't too bad.

They truly understand the importance. It’s about breaking through Win 10’s activation barrier, that’s all.

Here are some alternative phrasings for your request:

This topic involves exploring different ways to express the same idea.
The focus is on rewording concepts while maintaining clarity.
Each variation keeps the original meaning but changes the structure.
Let me know if you'd like more options!
