Should I obtain an official copy or go with the CD keys instead? And where would I find reliable sources for them?
I received six keys at no cost after completing college, simply by providing a tuition payment of $30,000. Have you explored obtaining keys for free with that amount?

Don't support iffy markets. If you do, don't bitch about issues you have with Windows; you haven't given them money, they owe you nothing. You can use Windows by simply installing it, you just can't change the background and you have a small watermark in the lower right corner.
