Windows 10 Activation issue

Hey everyone, I just purchased a Windows Pro key for $2 and activated it on my already-registered Windows 10 home laptop. Now it’s showing up as an older activation (Windows 10 Home) even though I’m using the Pro key. I know there must be something stored in the BIOS, but can I switch it to a valid Win 10 Pro product key?

The Pro Key is already set up, but I'm seeing only the software tool (Windows product key extractor) indicating an outdated product key.

Check the keys you have. The one that came with the activated start button has a number 9, while the one you bought and activated later starts with P.I'm working on a new setup for my cousin—only Win 10 Home is needed. Can I use the Win Home key?

Consider offering him your previous access code, just hoping it works (if it’s genuine, it should function properly) and avoid any digital activation on your device (though receiving the key suggests that might not be an issue).

You can test the key first. If it fails, you'll need to obtain a new one. If it works, you can contact Microsoft to have it fixed again, though buying a replacement for just two dollars might be simpler.
