Hello everyone, The window activation alert keeps appearing and it's quite bothersome. Anyone have any ideas on how to eliminate it completely? Thanks!

By turning it on with a key? Or by deleting the notification, you're essentially copying Windows technically

You can still use it even if you haven't used it much.

Your laptop contains various files and settings. You can check the details by opening the relevant applications or using system tools. Yes, it's possible to move a Windows 10 license from one PC to another.

I purchased a Windows 8 laptop and it was later upgraded to Windows 10. I built a desktop and am considering using the laptop's hardware instead of buying a new one, as I no longer rely on it.

You can definitely do this. If you're logged in with a Microsoft account on your laptop, the Windows 10 license is linked to that account. You should be able to transfer it by visiting the activation page in settings and selecting "Add an account" using your Microsoft account. If you have the Windows 7 key, simply enter it and Windows 10 will activate automatically.

I'm looking for the license information but I'm not sure where to start.

Here’s a revised version of your message:

It won’t appear as a separate item. It’s connected to your Microsoft account. Please select the option below my reply, and I won’t receive a notification about your response.

If your laptop came with an OEM license and you signed in using your Microsoft account, activation on the desktop might not automatically follow. The outcome depends on whether the license is still tied to the original equipment. Consider @Vishvas Sudarshan's advice to test activation on your desktop. If it succeeds, you're good; if not, you'll need to buy a compatible license from an authorized seller.

On Windows 8 and later, keys aren't shown anywhere. If your Microsoft account isn't working, you'll have to purchase a new one.
