Only Pro is required for tools such as BitLocker, Remote Desktop, Domain Tools, Group Policy, etc. You don’t need it—I’m confident about that. There’s no speed improvement. Obtain a genuine key from either the Microsoft Store or r/microsoftsoftwareswap. Download the Media Creation Tool. You’ll require a 4GB flash drive to install the Windows Installer. Once your computer is powered on with the USB, run the setup prompts.

It's a smart choice since you'll benefit from it every day over eight years while spending less on hardware costs.

I believe non-security patches can be postponed for a specific timeframe—perhaps around two weeks. This way, if a major feature update is released, you can postpone its installation. You also have BitLocker protection and the option to join a domain. Personally, I don’t see Pro being necessary for a regular user. The $120 Home version from Microsoft seems quite reasonable. You might locate OEM versions online for around $80–$90. Anything under that is likely grey market keys.
