You can revert window sizes back to their original settings by using the system or application controls designed for resetting them.
I've often thought about this too, there seems to be some strange behavior happening behind the scenes—windows seem to remember their size and position, but it's not very consistent. Plus, shifting windows on different monitors creates some frustrating issues. My computer tends to open windows that are just a little bit wide and tall, as if it's trying to match how I left them.
There isn’t much online information about it, but a batch file exists for Windows 7. It doesn’t seem to help with Windows 10. Resetting window size and position back to defaults might involve a registry tweak or a similar workaround.
