Your Windows 10 installation on the old drive will remain intact. Using the same product key on the new SSD won’t affect the original setup unless there are compatibility issues.

It should work. If it fails, reach out to Microsoft—they’ll provide a fresh key and won’t allow the same key on multiple devices simultaneously.

Everything seems okay now that I switched my SSD to the new machine, no activation problems. But occasionally it fails to activate, so I have to contact Microsoft and explain the situation with a very emotional story about needing a new PC.
