When you sign up for the Windows 8 update, it verifies your device. After a clean install, you can still enable Windows. Others might confirm this, but it seems to be reliable.

I connected the USB drive fine during Windows 7. The tool needs confirmation of a genuine Windows license, which I believe it is. You can find the download here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software.../windows10

After downloading the file from the website and saving it to a USB drive, it will save the product key along with the Windows 10 installation files. This allows you to replace your Windows 8 and perform a clean installation of Windows 10.

Update Windows 8 to 8.1 first. Then use the tool to download Windows 10 ISO, transfer it to a USB drive, and perform a fresh installation.

Sorry, this option doesn’t format your drive. It’s frustrating because you’d need to reinstall and format multiple times, especially when upgrading to newer versions. The process keeps some files from Windows 7 and requires entering your product key.

yes i meant 8.1, didnt think it mattered, thanks for the help guys will start downloading now, hopefully its done by next week, http://www.speedtest.net/result/4550142658.png and when i meant clean install i meant format my SSD then install windows 10 with the usb

Sure, just keep hibernation off and use Windows Disk Cleanup to remove old files from your SSD after installing Windows 10.
