It functioned for you. Ensure your system is configured to receive updates automatically. Execute the command in a cmd.exe window with admin privileges: wuauclt.exe /updatenow. You should proceed, and the download will start shortly. Visit Control Panel → System → System Updates to confirm the process.

This approach helped me, though I had to type the command several times. Pressing the up key and repeating it a few times should resolve it eventually.
