They have the right to proceed as they see fit. If you don’t agree, disconnect the internet. Updating software can be complex, especially with operating systems like Linux, which require significant development effort. It’s not always aligned with what sales teams want to release. If Microsoft isn’t the right choice, consider using a different operating system that better suits your needs.

It remains a self-serving tactic targeting consumers... Would it be better if they provided solid justifications to secure a win11 purchase? Not available at the moment.

You don't have to upgrade to Windows 11; just updating to Windows 10 21H2 works fine… thinking of a pricey move only sense if it wasn't offered for free. It's unrealistic for Microsoft to keep every older version of Windows 10, so concentrating on bug fixes and upcoming support in the newest release is logical. Why would they bother maintaining 21H1 when 21H2 is already available?

I see, I misinterpreted their intention. It makes sense to discontinue support for older Windows 10 releases.

Eventually, the news is confirmed. It's been stated that Windows 10 (Home/Pro) will reach the end of its support in 2025. Unclear why some people are worried about Microsoft ceasing updates for an older version, especially since a newer release is available now.

It's simpler and more cost-effective for them to keep newer Windows updates, which makes sense. They've launched at least two versions beyond 21H1, and they're likely to issue another soon once the end of support arrives.

The 21H2 release would have taken more than a year before Windows stopped providing updates for 21H1. Since Windows already ended support for 11 other previous versions of Windows 10, it makes sense that 21H1 would follow the same pattern.

Avoid taking the internet offline. Just turn off their unnecessary updates. I did this when their Windows 11 eligibility notifications began...
