Win11 install problem
Win11 install problem
I attempted to set up Windows 11 on my PC. The "PC Health Check" app indicated I satisfied the prerequisites, but the Windows Update reported otherwise. After downloading the installer from Microsoft's official site, a thunderstorm interrupted the process and caused the download to fail. Now, when I launch the installer again, it displays an error message. I've tried deleting and reinstalling multiple times, but the issue persists. I also restarted my computer a few times after the warning appeared.
Verify your PC meets the prerequisites first. Ensure it’s running on a GPT partition with UEFI activated, SecureBoot turned on in BIOS, and TPM enabled. If you’re using an older machine, Windows 11 compatibility is unlikely. Why do you need to upgrade?
You can locate the temp folder in your Windows installation directory, typically found at C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Temporary Files. Since your PC is relatively new, it should work fine. Upgrading to Windows 11 might be a good choice if you prefer its appearance.
I don't want to come across as rude, but... avoid running OS critical operations during a thunderstorm. It's best to upgrade if you really need it—clean install is the way to go. If your current system is on a smaller SSD, just remove it and swap in a new drive for Windows 11. For those who dislike Windows 11 as much as you feel, simply replace the old drive with your Windows 10 version without losing anything. Or, if you're not up for it, consider installing Linux instead.
