Thanks to everyone who participated. I hope you enjoyed it. Hello, I recently purchased a GTX 750 TI for one of my clients and have a digital code for the following items: 1- $50 in game currency for Strife [won by RazerZ] 2- $50 in game currency for Infinite Crisis [won by DimasRMDO] 3- $50 in game currency for War Thunder [won by givingtnt]. So it's... giveaway time!!! This is how it will unfold. [PLEASE READ] I dislike giveaway threads where you just have to show up, comment first and win. Considering my engineering background, there will be a few science questions and related problems to answer. Choose one and respond correctly, then you can claim one of the codes. The first person to answer right gets to pick a code, and subsequent winners can choose from unclaimed ones. Questions or problems already solved are removed for later winners. Don’t use Wikipedia; I’ll catch you if you do. Winners will be announced in this first post.

QUESTION 1 (math) [sOLVED by Werto165, no prize claimed] Simplify the expression and explain your steps.
QUESTION 2 (resistance of materials) [sOLVED by Rustikles, no prize claimed] Describe the only cause of hoop stress and how it leads to it.
QUESTION 3 (fluid dynamics) [sOLVED by Rustikles, no prize claimed] Explain the difference between NPSH required and available in a pump.
QUESTION 4 (Statistics) [sOLVED by RazerZ] Analyze the data: a population of N cars, each with a probability p of being operational after X years. What distribution fits this scenario?
QUESTION 5 (Finite elements) [sOLVED by Rustikles, no prize claimed] Define the term for the collection of known displacements or forces on specific elements.
QUESTION 6 (resistance of materials) [sOLVED by DimasRMDO] In your own words, what is the yield strength of a material?
QUESTION 7 (Chemistry) [sOLVED by givingtnt and Rustikles] List five factors that influence the rate of a chemical reaction.
QUESTION 8 (Vectorial algebra) What is the component of a vector’s length that points in another vector’s direction?
QUESTION 9 (Physics) [sOLVED by Supermast] What shape exists for electrons orbiting an atom with uniform energy?

welp ok leme do that on a peice of paper never did the maths your asking for.. and never did phisics.... this is gonna be fun Q2: Thin-Walled Pressure Vessels Q3: not sure what it is... but I think the difference is what you need in order to move a fluid, comapred to what you have... (never did fluid phisics) Q4 I think this one is right there is actually 6 that I know of Question 7 : surface area , concentration, pressure, temperature, nature of reactants, catalyst

I'll go ahead, it's way too much effort for something I'm really familiar with Rolleyes

The highest stress level before the object permanently changes shape is known as the yield point.

You're asking for a clarification on what you mean by "nature of reactant and you win." This likely refers to explaining the characteristics of a reactant in a reaction and how understanding that helps you succeed.
