I just completed upgrading my motherboard, processor, and other parts. I purchased a Win11 copy but couldn't install it. I managed to boot from a bootable hard drive from the old system even after installing new components. Wish I had known better. I wouldn’t have bought the new version. Is this really pointless for me? I’m confident I can upgrade and keep saving my programs if I’m not wrong. Could someone guide me in the right direction? Thanks.

The drive+OS from your previous system might start up, but it is not assured to function correctly moving ahead.

Thanks, I'll take a look. I'm worried about losing programs. I've set up a redundant backup and recorded everything needed for a clean installation.

You lose all data during that process.
Complete reset and reinstall.
Operating system, programs, and everything.

The tutorial suggests making a bootable media. Do you have a Win 11 flash drive ready for this upgrade?
