I updated to win 11 on my Dell laptop from Windows 10. I had never used Thunderbird before, the email program. I attempted to download it and what appeared confused me... It mentioned something like it is now called Mozilla. In the past, I would copy the old profile and install it on the new computer and everything functioned properly. It has been a while since I did this and some syntax issues are still puzzling me, maybe someone can help if they remember. I tried syncing too, but that also failed, and then exporting/installing didn’t work either. What’s happening here??? The more Microsoft updates systems, browsers, and take full control, the more I feel like an uninformed user.

Your top choice is to export your address book. If you wish to retain all your current emails and install Mozilla Thunderbird with everything as before, you can try a free tool named Hekasoft Backup & Restore v.92. Update Thunderbird on your old system and then reinstall it on the new one. I recently transferred a few machines from W7 to W11 and used it successfully, maintaining all settings. This program also functions in browsers and antivirus software, among other uses.

Thank you...it is now V.95. I downloaded it but haven't run it yet. I received a warning that no manufacturer was listed. I waited for your advice on that.
