If you encounter error 0xc0000005, run the Windows Update Trouble-shooter (which will be updated soon - https://support.microsoft.com/en-us...sh...9e71f9040a). The update that was expected to take about 30 minutes actually lasted an hour. It was unusual since my modern setup operated independently, instead of being part of the update assistant. So far, except for Windows, I haven't noticed any changes... which is what I mentioned two years ago when I first installed Windows 11.

I don't mind Edge because it switched to essentially being Chromium. I use it for my personal browser and Chrome at work. The update hasn't caused any problems on the machines where it's installed. For some reason, my 10th gen i3 work box hasn't had a chance to update yet. I think it will happen eventually.
This reminds me that I should take the laptop out, turn it on, and let it download updates.

I didn't pause, I executed the Upgrade assistant.
If it hadn't succeeded, I would have created a USB installer since that usually functions.

I don't mind using edge either. I tried opening the same tabs in both edge and chrome to compare RAM usage, and found that edge consumes roughly half the resources of chrome.

Chrome needs a lot of resources, doesn't it?
It seems to prefer running quietly in the background when you set specific preferences.

Edge comes integrated with Windows, making it hard to confirm if the way it's used is correct since it might not display all details. It can utilize components that don't increase memory consumption because they are already active.

which browser uses the least resources? I mainly use Opera GX, but I'm not sure about its memory consumption because I haven't checked before.

It seems the optimal version is around 30mb with 10 tabs open*, while the maximum is 870mb. Other browsers typically start at about 900mb, and Chrome reaches up to 1tb. Which browser consumes the least memory? [Answered] - MSPoweruser
