Will turning this switch hurt my computer parts?
I want my PC to start up quickly, but it takes too long compared to other times and I don't know why. So I looked online for how to boot windows 11 fast, and one thing I found is this setting under system configuration which tells me to use processors but only the 4 if I have more than 1 and 2 in that option under boot<Advance options https://imgur.com/TWJEpxF View: https://imgur.com/TWJEpxF Is it safe to enable 4 processors to get a faster boot up time and does it affect the CPU's longevity? So i have an Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80GHz and was telling a buddy about some slow loading when i play online games and he had me go into msconfig under BOOT tab and click on advanced option and see the number of processors. It shows 1 and he thought i should change it to 4 or 8. I know little... forums. The "number" is irrelevant. Leave it unchecked.
I checked nothing, so the number looks like one or two. Shouldn't I set a specific value when nothing is selected?
I have an Intel Core i7 860 running at 2.80GHz, but my PC feels slow when playing online games. A friend told me to go into the settings menu under the "BOOT" tab and click on "advanced options." There it shows that there is only 1 processor. I thought I needed to change this number to 4 or 8 because he didn't know anything better than me. I don't really know how computers work, but if you go into a settings menu under the BOOT tab and see that, just leave it unchecked. The actual number doesn't matter here.
