Hi everyone,
I’m looking to upgrade my graphics card after finishing a recent PC build. The system is mainly used for competitive multiplayer games where high FPS matters. I’d like the ability to play 1440p at reasonable settings, especially in games that don’t require ray tracing (except maybe some Minecraft shaders). An RX 7900 XT would be a solid choice for this purpose?
Below are my current specifications:
Case: Montech Air 100 ARGB mATX
MB: Gigabyte B650M D3HP AX
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X
RAM: Kingston Fury Beast ARGB 32GB (2x16GB, 6000MT/s, CL30 - EXPO active)
Cooler: Cooler Master MasterLiquid 240L Core ARGB
Storage: Kingston NV3 1TB PCIe Gen 4 M.2-2280 (main drive) and Patriot P300 256GB Gen 3 M.2-2280 (secondary drive for extra storage)
Current GPU: Palit GeForce GTX 1650 (planned replacement soon)
PSU: Corsair RMe 750W 80+ Gold

PSU: Corsair RMe 750W 80+ Gold
What's the age of your PSU? You'd have been fine with an 850W model from Corsair's lineup, similar to yours, but your setup should still be solid as long as the power supply isn't too old—just not that old. For 1440p, consider something more affordable like the RX 7800XT. If you're aiming for higher resolutions, opt for a more advanced processor.

Based on what I know, the RM750e is likely around its peak performance about two years ago. The latest data I have points to December 2022 as the most recent reference available.

4070 Super remains a solid option for 1440p when you're considering DLSS or Ray Tracing. The 7900 XT offers better pure raster performance, which is what you're focusing on.

7900xt provides extra performance capacity at 1440p. I own one, it operates smoothly and quietly. A standard 750W power supply should comfortably meet your requirements.
