I recently upgraded my 7700XT to a 9070XT and considered relocating it to an older system I store in my parent's house for use during vacations. The 7700XT comes with a Corsair RM650 PSU that is quite outdated, around 7 or 8 years old now. It supports the Ryzen 3600 and RX6600 currently installed, but will it function properly with this older setup? I’m unsure if it’s too outdated or underpowered for the new system. The main concern is whether using a PSU that can’t deliver sufficient power might risk damaging the card. The monitor in question is an MSI 1080p 100Hz model with free sync, which helps keep power consumption manageable.

It has an old Corsair RM650 PSU, around 7 or 8 years past its prime. I wouldn't recommend running the RX 7700 XT with it. If someone had a similar TDP card, they'd probably stick to the older Corsair model. You could test it yourself, but the main concern is whether the PSU can supply enough power and if using it might harm the card.

Thanks, I guess i'll just sell the card then. No reason to ruin a perfectly good card that could be worth 250 euros in the used market.
