Initially sorry if this should have been placed in the Graphics cards or Components section. I'm currently working on finishing an old PC that was given to me. I really like handling older computers, and this one is definitely one of them. It currently features a Riva TNT 2 model 64 pro AGP graphics card and is expected to be upgraded to a 7800gs.

Here are the details I have so far:
- Asus A7V133 motherboard
- AMD Athlon Thunderbird 1.2 GHz processor
- 384K RAM (1 stick of 256, plus 128)
- Riva TNT 2 model 64 pro AGP graphics card
- 3.5 inch HDDs
- 2 DVD drives, with one being disconnected to save power
- 1 floppy drive
- Disconnecting the old 340 watt Enlighten brand PSU (possibly related to booting problems)
- An unused 850 Supernova fully modular unit
- Not having any molex cables for the Supernova
- Requires four molex connections for DVD drives, each HDD, case fan, and a separate one for the 7800gs
- No molex cables for the Supernova, and the 7800gs needs its own dedicated molex if it must be wired separately

I’m unsure if this configuration will be stable enough, especially testing the 7800gs. I know these parts are quite old, and the 1.2 GHz T-bird might limit performance. Finding a higher wattage PSU with sufficient connections is often challenging. I’ll look for the exact model of the current 340 watt unit with its rail information soon.

Thank you.

Have you checked if the CMOS battery on the motherboard has been replaced?

Absolutely. Those were the primary concerns I discussed in another update.

Did you verify the capacitors and ELK components on the motherboard? If they are damaged, blown, or swollen.

It looked okay when I reviewed the board before, but I didn’t get a complete picture of every area. I need that detailed view now. Otherwise, the PC is functioning properly. I just want to confirm if the 340 watt PSU will be enough to test the 7800GS AGP card. I don’t have another more capable PSU with the required connections. Thanks again.
