Will this adjustment negatively affect the CPU performance?
I want my PC to start up normally but sometimes it takes longer than usual. I checked the system settings for Windows 11 and found an option under system configuration that suggests using processors, but only the 4th if there are more than one or two in that setting. I also looked at a link showing this adjustment. Is it safe to turn on 4 processors for quicker boot times? Does this impact the CPU's lifespan?
I have an Intel Core i7 860 @ 2.80GHz and experienced slow loading during online games. A friend suggested adjusting the processor count in msconfig, but when I checked, it displayed only 1 processor. He recommended changing it to 4 or 8, though I’m not sure what he meant. The "number" isn’t important. Leave it unchecked.
