Will the Legion Tower 7i Gen8 13600KF/4080 support DDR5 at its maximum 5600 MHz?
I anticipate receiving one of these devices and am thinking about sending it back unused. I've come across mixed information regarding the memory (marked DDR5-5600). Some sources claim it will only operate at 4400MHz on this system, while others suggest XMP settings in the BIOS can enable it to run smoothly at 5600MHz. Could anyone clarify whether these newest Legion 7i Gen8 towers are capable of running their memory at full capacity? Additionally, there are reports about difficulties adding a second M.2 SSD—anyone have insights on that as well?
Beyond just stock frequency, any additional tweaking qualifies as an overclock. To reach those speeds without adjusting timings manually, you need to use X.M.P functionality, an overclocking profile built into the RAM.
Yes, you can achieve those advertised rates only if you turn on X.M.P in the BIOS or set the frequency, voltage, and timings yourself using the labels on your RAM modules.
