Will the EVGA 500GD support a 2070 GAMING OC from Gigabyte?
Will the EVGA 500GD support a 2070 GAMING OC from Gigabyte?
I'm searching for a used 2070 and considered using an EVGA 500GD power supply. If that's not suitable, I need to find the best graphics card that fits with this PSU while keeping costs low.
EVGA 500GD
How old is the PSU in your build? What has it been powering throughout it's tenure?
I'm trying to stay VERY budget so I don't really want to upgrade PSU.
Budget is a relative term, how much do you have to spend? Where are you located and what are you pairing the GPU with? As in, what are the specs to your current build?
On second thoughts, please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
The 500w GD was introduced in 2019. It's a solid power supply unit produced by two distinct OEMs, FSP and Andyson. The models from Andyson perform slightly better, though both can support a system with an RTX 2070. The GPU uses about 200w at full load, leaving ample capacity for the CPU and other components unless you're using a newer Intel i9.
