Summary: The hardware is performing adequately, but I’m experiencing poor frame rates in Overwatch.
I've spent considerable time attempting to diagnose this issue independently without success. As a competitive college esports player, I require consistently exceeding 144 frames in Overwatch. Lately, my frame rates have been dropping to 120 and sometimes even lower than 90.

Here are my system specifications:
Windows 10 (64-bit) version 1903
Corsair CX600 Power Supply Unit
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti
AMD Ryzen 5 2600
CORSAIR Vengeance RGB 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4 3000MHz
GIGABYTE B450 AORUS PRO WIFI
222GB Solid State Drive with 12.9GB free space
Connected via Fiber Optic Ethernet – 2ms latency, 911.46 Mbps download, 654.72 Mbps upload
Not overclocking, Windows performance set to high, all drivers and BIOS are updated, minimum in-game settings applied.
I've performed disk cleanup, defragmentation, and malware scans.
My hardware is largely new – only the PSU being an exception. I believe these low frame rates are unexpected considering my system's capabilities, and all components were purchased recently.

If anyone can offer any insight or suggestions, I would be immensely grateful. Please let me know if there’s any additional information you require.
Thank you.

Hello, welcome to our community!

The 21 gigabyte free space might suggest a problem.
Storage devices tend to slow down noticeably when they're nearly full; a common guideline is to maintain SSDs below 70%, though I often see good performance up to 80-85%. It appears you’ve exceeded this, which could explain any performance issues.

However:
Are you sure your graphics card and individual processor cores are running at normal temperatures under heavy use?
Have you completed the standard upkeep:
Disk clearing
Defragmentation / trimming
Antivirus scans
Have you recently examined your internet connection and speeds?
When was the last time you cleaned both inside and out on your computer?
How long has the PC been in service?
What is the exact model number of your power supply unit?

Have you checked your graphics card and processor core temperatures while under heavy use?
I suspect I have, as I’ve used RyzenMaster to monitor my CPU temperature, which typically ranges between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. However, I'm uncertain about how to assess my graphics card temperature. Both components are currently exhibiting low to moderate activity according to ResourceMonitor.
Have you performed the standard maintenance procedures?
- Yes, I’ve completed disk cleanup.
- Yes, I've defragmented/trimmed my drive.
- No, I’ll run a malware scan immediately.
Have you evaluated your internet connection speed and stability lately?
Yes, I’m experiencing a 2ms ping with download speeds of 911.46Mbps and upload speeds of 654.72Mbps over Ethernet.
When was the last time you performed a thorough cleaning of the computer both internally and externally?
I completely rebuilt the PC system this past winter.
How long has your computer been in use?
It’s approximately six years old, although I recently updated all components except for the power supply.
What is your PSU model exactly?
