I enhanced my overclocked z390, 9700k based setup from a GTX 1080ti to a RTX 4090. It significantly improved performance across most games. The boost in 1% FPS reached at least 50%. This was the biggest performance increase I've experienced by changing just one component.

The CPU bottleneck would be almost nonexistent at 2560x1440 because that resolution demands more from the GPU. You're safe to proceed and should notice significant gains.
