Will my computer’s memory be sufficient for playing Fortnite?
I recently updated my computer by adding an RX 580, but noticed it performed poorly with my previous processor. Consequently, I purchased a G4400 and a new motherboard, which necessitated acquiring DDR4 RAM – I opted for 4 GB instead of the 8 GB previously used. My current PC specifications are: Intel Pentium G4400 at 3.3 GHz, Gigabyte RX 580 with 8 GB of VRAM, and 4 GB of DDR4 RAM.
When playing Fortnite, I experience smooth gameplay at 150+ frames per second, only to have the performance dip significantly to under 10 or 20 FPS every five seconds. Therefore, I’m curious: is this issue stemming from the processor or the RAM? The game is practically unplayable at any settings I've attempted.
