Will my computer be able to play smoothly at 720p resolution?
I’m inquiring about whether my system specifications will adequately support streaming at 720p with a frame rate of 60 frames per second. My internet connection speed is 50 megabits per second.
My hardware includes: An Asus P8H61-MX USB 3 motherboard, Windows 10 Pro (64-bit), an Intel Core i5-3570 processor (3.4 GHz), 8GB of RAM (2 x 4GB), a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050ti graphics card, and a DeepCool Ice Blade 200m CPU cooler.
Employing NVIDIA’s Shadowplay or OBS with NVENC allows for streaming at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second. However, if you opt to encode using your central processing unit, you'll achieve a maximum of 720p at 60fps; this requires careful configuration within specific games and assigning a high priority to the streaming software through Windows Task Manager to maintain consistent performance.
I’m interested in utilizing OBS due to its expanded features, such as Streamlabs widgets and so forth; however, GeForce Experience operates smoothly without any lagging but offers significantly less customization and fewer options. I'm willing to stream using NVENC, but within OBS, I struggle to configure the correct settings or understand the bitrate – I find the controls confusing. If you could provide me with recommended OBS settings suitable for NVENC streaming, I would greatly appreciate it.
I requested a CPU encoder because I’d been told it was superior for broadcasting.
