If the laptop remains powered on continuously without overheating and all component temperatures stay within normal ranges, there is a risk of battery degradation. This could affect the battery's lifespan and overall performance over time.

leaving it on is fine as long as the temperatures remain suitable. however, keeping the battery fully charged can reduce its overall lifespan. if you need to keep it connected, just take it out when you're not using it and let the battery discharge before reinserting it. do this whenever possible to maintain the battery's condition. no matter what steps you take, the battery won't last indefinitely. therefore, don't worry too much about losing a lot of sleep if the laptop lasts only a few years.

i usually purchase a spare battery when buying a laptop, so when it finally loses its charge, i replace it with a new one.
