Will getting a surge protector outlet safeguard your equipment during a power outage?
My main worry is needing to invest more in a GPU, CPU, motherboard, etc. because of a power outage. Surges follow a power loss, so would that protect my hardware at least? From what I understand, power outages can cause corrupted files, which could be fixed with a factory reset. But the surges afterward are likely to damage the hardware. Buying a USP is costly, though. Would a surge protector help? Please clarify if I'm mistaken.
There is nothing completely secure against a massive power surge.
It could be so rapid or intense that all electrically linked devices won’t shield you.
A comprehensive house surge protection system might offer the strongest defense.
Future models could provide even better safeguards, such as advanced surge protectors like surgex.
Upgrades in UPS units can also enhance protection levels.
In reality, you’re likely safe enough.
Power interruptions occur daily with little impact.
I believe the optimal protection comes from a high-quality power supply unit.
