Will cities skylines perform better when overclocked?
I have the ASUS B350 motherboard with Wi-Fi and Corsair 16x1 3000MZ RAM. I want to add another 8GB of RAM for a game like Cities Skylines. Can I get 8GB or is 16 required? Also, does it need to be 3000MZ or can it be 2400? At the local hardware store, 2400MZ items are at 50% off while 3000MZ only has a 10% discount.
will cities skylines perform better with overclocking?
right now, with mods enabled, the game becomes very laggy after a moderately large city.
this is my setup—always had a gaming laptop.
my system—1060 gtx, 8gb or 6gb ram, 16gb x 1 ram, 3000mhz, ryan zen 1700x, asus b350, sd 1tb ssd, power supply not exact but likely tx 650 or 750.
Better is quite likely yes, provided the OC remains stable.
Whether "better" represents excellent performance or just slightly improved performance hinges on your goals.
A GTX 1060 comes in 3GB or 6GB variants, but not an 8GB option.
If you're using only 1x16GB, it could limit CPU utilization.
Ryzen performs optimally with dual-channel memory.
hey u merged my threads. everything else is okay but the power on issue is really important. what is oc? then 6gb 1060gb. oh i wish i knew it sooner, now i have 16gb so what should i do? i want a big improvement, not just a slight fix. the game uses 60% ram and 40% gpu.
there is a resource about gpu overclocking with good results. the chances of failure are minimal.
