Dear all, this is the first post, please be kind.
I looked a bit on the forum but didn’t find a solution. My question is whether the board will retain previous overclocking settings when I switch to a different CPU, or if they reset automatically.
The case is that I’m about to get an MSI Z370-A PRO from a friend, but he isn’t sure if there were any prior overclocking settings or which CPU was installed. I can always reset it before installing the new one, but I’d like to know if that happens automatically.
Thank you for your time.

It's uncertain, but you should revert to the original settings (reset to factory defaults) when switching CPUs. Overclock adjustments from one CPU don't transfer to another.

Yes. Since you're going to clear the CMOS, you'll need to adjust the values for the new CPU.

For a new motherboard, it's important to really think about installing a clean OS.
