Will a 120 watt inverter supply enough power for my gaming laptop?
Will a 120 watt inverter supply enough power for my gaming laptop?
20 volts, 12 amps, 240 watts output. I had no idea how electricity worked until I started doing this. Now I'm considering switching to a solar panel because you can charge laptops with Type C ports these days. I think a 40 watt panel would keep it fully charged while I browse. Lol
OMG I was going to get a jackery with the solar panel, but then I searched and found that just the panel would work now because laptops can be charged through the Type-C port these days. I thought plugging power into USB would damage the motherboard, but at least it worked a decade ago, lol!
and holy crud my car has a type c port i could literally just plug that directly into my laptop and recharge it. it's probably not enough to keep it running i think it only does like 5 watts of charge but it would recharge it eventually.
Hello there.
The Type-C ports in Toyota cars can deliver up to 15 watts for charging devices. But the highest possible power for USB-C is around 240 watts, which depends on the device's ability to handle that amount.
Edit: Thunderbolt 4, which I own, can reach 240 watts. Isn't that unusual for a car USB port?
I didn't mention a car USB port. I referred to a USB adapter for your vehicle.
It connects into your power port.
You're attempting an inverter to convert AC from the port, but it would be better to purchase a USB-C 100W adapter. This addresses your fuse issue and provides maximum power without needing to connect an inverter to the battery.
An example is this one. The top port supports 100W, and similar options are available at different price points. You might want to review some options to find a trustworthy product.
